Capiz shells are the inside lining of an oyster that is abundant throughout Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia and the Philippines. The shells take dye beautifully, making capiz an ideal material for crafts and jewelry. For our fair trade wind chime, the shells are dyed gorgeous shades of blues and greens.
