Namibian Masego Basket
This Fair Trade Namibian Masego Basket is intricately hand-made by a women’s group in the Kavango Region of Namibia. Masego which means “blessing” in Tswana is an apt name for this piece of art. It would look equally beautiful on a table top or displayed on a wall to add culture and texture to your home. Taking an average of 3-6 weeks to make each individual basket the design is also traditional. The women source and use all natural plant dyes. There are no two alike.
Each ethically made Namibian basket purchase like this Masego Basket supports the artisans directly and helps educate at-risk girls through FAWENA (Forum of African Women Educationalists in Namibia). “Educate the girls and lift up the culture.”
